Teenage girl skater sees on Instagram that there is a group of teenage girl skaters in a park in the Lower East Side. Her mom hates her being a skater. But she takes the train from Long Island to the LES and finds friendship, competition and challenges to her current state of being. The movie takes you to view NYC from their point of view. Its not so much about skating as it is about loyalty and comraderie. The girls find boy skaters who reject them and reluctantly “let” them hang out in their areas. Every trip uptown is about landings and rails and the establishment from which they are far alienated. It is a total joy and the kids are fantastic and real. Don’t miss this one.
