Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne are terrific in the drama/comedy about family and adoption. It has a lot of truth telling and doesn’t go too Hollywood. As parents, they are having conception issues. They want to adopt one child. But the one they met at an Adoption Fair comes with two younger siblings. They ponder the effects of an instant family. They take the required course. They change their house. They do it all. But one teenage girl and two other sibs provide a challange beyond their abilities. Enter his mom, played by Margo Martindale in the best role she ever played. Fearless and astute, she wins over the kids. Lots of bumps in this road of adoption. But the movie has a feel good tone to it.
