Jon Alpert directs this movie about his long standing relationship with Fidel Castro and Cuba. He was an American cameraman who somehow got to talk with Fidel in 1979, and was included in Fidel’s enterouge when he came to speak to the United Nations. They became friends. Alpert also befriended many Cuban families and the film documents his returning visits to Cuba to see them. It is a touching as well as a historic piece of filmmaking. The conditions in Cuba are clearly depicted without political narrative. Look for the three farmers, they will steal your heart. In theatres and Netflix.
